#19:🌊 Don’t Look Past What’s in Front of You.
I went to a conference recently and, like anyone would, I stopped to take a quick picture in front of the beautiful props. Simple, right? Just a nice moment captured.
But when I looked at the picture later, I found myself staring, really staring into it. Something in my spirit stirred. I knew the Holy Spirit was trying to tell me something, but my eyes were fixed on what was ahead, not what was right in front of me.
When I got home, I sent the picture to my husband. His first words were:
“Do you know that picture is prophetic? You standing in front of the boat is prophetic.”
And suddenly everything shifted.
I withdrew my gaze from the distance and focused on what was directly in front of me.
A boat.
A symbol woven throughout Scripture, calling, preparation, encounter, stretching, faith.
And I realised:
Sometimes we are so focused on the future that we completely miss what God is doing right now.

✨ Scriptural Reflection
1. Jesus Calls Us From Where We Already Stand
Before the disciples experienced miracles or multitudes, Jesus met them right at their boat.
“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.” — Matthew 4:19
Your calling often begins in the familiar place you overlook.
2. The Boat Is a Classroom for Faith
The disciples followed Him into the boat, into a place of stretching.
“Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him.” — Matthew 8:23
God often teaches us through what is already around us.
3. The Extraordinary Begins in the Ordinary
Peter’s moment of bold, supernatural faith started from the boat.
“Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.” — Matthew 14:29
You cannot walk into the next season without seeing the value of the one you’re in.
đź’ˇ The Message
That simple conference picture turned into a divine reminder:
• ✨ Don’t despise small beginnings.
• ✨ Don’t overlook the ordinary.
• ✨ Don’t be so future focused that you miss today’s instruction.
Sometimes the boat is not the destination,
It’s the starting point.
Look again.
Listen again.
What you seek might already be sitting right in front of you.
Prayer:
Father, open my eyes to see what You have placed right before me.
Help me not to rush past Your instruction, Your provision, or Your gentle whispers.
Teach me to value the season I’m in, even as I prepare for the one ahead.
Show me the “boat moments” in my life, the places where You are calling, shaping, and preparing me.
