Vlog Post #1 — Welcome, August
First of August.
I’ve been waiting for you.
Every year, from as early as January, I find myself looking forward to this month — a season wrapped in family birthdays, memories, and milestones. August has always been one of my favorite months, but not just for the celebration. It’s also become a sacred pause — a time when I turn inward. A time for reflection, for searching, for uprooting, for prayer.
This year, I gave myself a head start — a few quiet days to begin that inward journey early. And as I sit here, simply breathing — exhaling, inhaling — I’m taken back to the last carefree birthday I remember. It was 2021.
I’ve celebrated since then, yes. I’ve found ways to give thanks, to honour the gift of life. But something in me shifted that year. Life began to feel different. The lens I looked through sharpened. The intricate things — the ones easy to miss — became everything. And the principle of going deeper rather than wider started to make more sense.

So here we are: August 1st, and the start of a journey.
For the next 30 days, I’ll be showing up with daily reflections. Quiet musings from the edges of my life as a woman, mother, midwife, and believer.
If you can’t check in every day, that’s okay — I’ve got you.
You’ll find it all here under #MusingsofaBabyCatcher.
Welcome to August.
Welcome to my heart space.
Let’s begin.
